Carpet Surfing Scooter

Sunday evening, my husband saved my red scooter's Synchiropus stellatus life (his name is Romulus). He found him laying on the kitchen floor about 3 feet away from the tank. Scooters don't usually jump, so I'm baffled as to how he got there. I thought for sure he'd be dead, he was almost dry. I picked him up and held him in front of the powerhead for 30 seconds until I saw him start to breathe again. 2 days later, he's totally fine. That makes me happy! I would've been devastated if I'd lost him, he's such a fat, healthy little fish. he even eats mysis.

My Erectus Seahorses

Here are a couple photos of my two Hippocampus erectus seahorses. The female is named Ellis and the male is Juniper, after my two favorite authors Tony Juniper and Richard Ellis. The photo of Juniper was taken the day I brought them home, so he was still a little skinny then. Ellis is the seahorse at the clear feeding dish with the cirri (skin appendages). Juniper of course is the one with the pouch.
